DAY 1: CUSCO - CHACHAMBAMBA - WIÑAYWAYNA - HOT WATER

On the first day we will pick you up from your hotel/accommodation in the early morning and go to the Ollantaytamboa train station, where we will take the tourist train towards kilometer 104, one of the most famous points to do the Short Inca Trail. From this place we will begin our walk along the top of the mountains, a 4-hour route in which you will be totally enchanted by the wild landscapes of the area. At the end of this path we will arrive at the ruins of Chachabamba (a beautiful Inca palace with fine walls carved in stone), after having received a talk from your official guide about Inca history and culture we will begin the ascent to Winaywayna for 8 km (4 hours), it is the most important archaeological complex on the Inca Trail and is a construction that is located in the most beautiful cloud forest after Machu Picchu. At this point, from where you can get unbeatable views, we will rest and eat, we will have one of the unforgettable experiences. After having explored these wonderful ruins with our guide, we will continue our tour until we reach Inti Punku (Puerta del Sol), in this place we will have a great view of the beautiful citadel of Machu Picchu. At Puerta del Sol we will take a short break and take advantage of taking many photographs of Machu Picchu. We will descend to Machu Picchu to continue to the town of Aguas Calientes. We will spend the night in our hotel and we will have time to get to know the small town, as well as have dinner and talk about our big day tomorrow.

DAY 2: INCA CITY OF MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

After having our breakfast at our hotel, we will take the bus that will take us to our final destination, Machu Picchu. Upon arrival we will immediately have a guided tour of 2 hours and 30 minutes with our official guide, we will visit the most important places of the place such as: the royal Mausoleum, the temple of the 3 windows, the main temple, the Sacred Plaza, the Intihuatana where The wise Incas tied the sun on the winter solstice in June, staircases and so on. You will have free time to explore the mysterious city of Machu Picchu at your own pace. At a certain time you must take the bus down from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes and then we will board the return train to Ollantaytambo and then we will head to the imperial city of Cusco .

If you want to make the surprising ascent of Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, you must make a reservation request well in advance. You can request it from our reservation form.

RECOMMENDATION:

Acclimatization in the city of Cusco is necessary for one or two days before starting the tour. For good acclimatization it is necessary to rest as much as possible, eat little, drink plenty of fluids; especially coca tea, which has known healing and digestive properties. Adequate acclimatization prevents "soroche" or altitude sickness from affecting you, which could cause numerous health problems.
